Founded in 2014 by former ABB/Alstom engineers, Hughes Technical Services (HTS) was created to deliver expert, customer-focused support for gas and steam turbine operators around the world. Our mission: provide responsive, practical solutions that improve reliability, safety, and long-term performance, especially for legacy Alstom^® and ABB^® systems. We are the leading independent provider of Alstom^® gas turbine and ABB^® controls, electrical systems, and instrumentation support. From commissioning and mechanical services to custom upgrades, field repairs, and capital parts sourcing, HTS is trusted by plant operators across multiple industries to keep their operations running efficiently and reliably.

Main Expertise & Services

HTS specializes in delivering expert support and solutions to the power generation industry. Our OEM-trained engineers, with extensive experience from ABB^® and Alstom^®, provide specialized services in troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades for gas and steam turbines, control systems, and generator protection.

Gas Turbines

Legacy BBC/ABB/Alstom, commissioning, OPC, control, assessments, site advice, outage overlook, consulting, supervision and lifespan advice. Complete overhauls, operation improvements, etc.

Steam Turbines

Hydraulic and digital governing systems, low/high pressure hydraulic safety and control systems, gland steam and extraction systems. Valve rebuilds, trip blocks retrofits, safety control skids builds upgrades, EHC and I/H converters and valve control loops. Upgrades of all aging systems.

Control Systems

Expert level of:

Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR)

AVR maintenance and testing, NERC Compliance and Digital Front End or complete unit uupgrade/replacment.

Static Frequency Converter (SFC)

SFC and LCI front end and complete unit upgrade, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting

Generator Protection

Generator Protection Systems testing, calibration and upgrades
